Rosario Central Recognized as Argentine League Champion

Buenos Aires, November 20 (NA) -- Rosario Central was recognized as League Champion for finishing first in the annual table, according to the Argentine News Agency.

The decision was made this Thursday by the Executive Committee of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), headed by President Claudio 'Chiqui' Tapia. It was also decided that the International Super Cup will not take place.

Following this decision, a delegation from Rosario Central, consisting of Gonzalo Belloso (president), Carolina Cistinziano (first vice president), Ariel Holan (technical director), as well as players Jorge Broun and Ángel Di María, went to collect the trophy.

Rosario Central, for its part, published on its social networks highlighting the 'achievement': 'Central, 2025 League Champion! We are the best team of the year!'.

After leaving the AFA headquarters, the president of 'Canalla', Gonzalo Belloso, detailed that 'it was a plan that has been in the works for several years. Super well-deserved for a club like ours, which was first from the first to the last date, made more points than anyone and lost only two matches all year... I am very grateful to my squad, the players, and the people of Rosario Central'.

Finally, he stated: 'Argentine football needed to have that annual tournament. I am grateful to President (Claudio) Tapia, (Pablo) Toviggino, and the entire Committee'.

'The possibility had been on the table and the big teams like it. From now on, this title will be added to the Apertura, Clausura, and the Champions Trophy'.

And he highlighted: 'The current champion was recognized, that's what happened'.
